If a loved one passed away after January 20, 2020 and the cause of death is attributable to COVID-19, FEMA is offering financial assistance for funeral related expenses. FEMA has made eligibility simple, only requiring that the death occurred within the United States, the death certificate indicates the death was attributable to COVID-19, that the applicant is a US citizen and incurred funeral expenses on behalf of the decedent after January 20, 2021. If these requirements are satisfied, FEMA encourages you to submit an application.
